Dear Ubbo Emmians,
Spring is here! And what better way to enjoy the nice spring weather than with some history… in a beautiful scenic landscape! On the 1st of May, Professor of Landscape History Theo Spek will organize an excursion for us through an area of National Park Drentsche Aa. Here we’ll enjoy a nice hike through forests, fields (and maybe streams), as well as information about various local sites relating to the area’s nature, agricultural past and historic villages we pass along the way.
The excursion will last roughly from 12:00 until 16:00, ending on the terrace of a local pub for drinks afterwards! The excursion starts at the P+R Annen Bus Station along the N34 between Annen and Anloo, easily reachable by a 15 minute bus ride from Groningen Station. Consider wearing footwear suitable for walking trails!
